Over 95 Participants Trained on New 2025 Paid Leave Laws!

A huge thank you to all who attended our previous webinar, Big Improvements in California’s Paid Leave Laws, on February 5th! For those that missed it, the California Work & Family Coalition hosted a training along with Legal Aid At Work and the California Coalition on Family Caregiving, which covered all the improvements to California’s Paid Leave Laws. We appreciated our engaged audience, who asked thoughtful questions about caregiving, paid leave, and paid sick days.

For more resources on Paid Family Leave visit our website or our resource hub. Looking ahead, we’re excited to announce our next training in Spanish with Mixteco interpretation on March 26th! See the next story below.

Coalition Members Call on Legislators to Protect Medicaid

Coalition Members, Juan Carlos Guerrero, Caring Across Generations, and Felicity Figurora, Women For Orange County, recently joined a town hall to advocate against the budget resolution that would require Congress to dramatically cut Medicaid. The resolution directs the House Energy and Commerce Committee, which has jurisdiction over Medicaid, to cut a minimum of $880 billion in federal spending. Any Medicaid cuts will take away health and long-term care from older adults, people with disabilities, and their caregivers.

Join Coalition members and allied organizations to advocate for Medicaid and against this budget resolution. Use this call-in line to reach your member of Congress: 866-426-2631 or fill out this form.
