The Caregiver Narrative Project: Caregiving as an Act of Resistance and a Common Good

The California Work & Family Coalition is proud to release our new report, The Caregiver Narrative Project: Caregiving as an Act of Resistance and a Common Good. Last year, the Coalition received funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to work internally with members and close partners to identify and lift up narratives that reveal the importance of care, caregiving, and the dignity of both paid caregivers and unpaid family caregivers.

We worked in two phases: First, we studied the current landscape and then we launched a learning circle made up of Coalition members to envision new caregiving narratives that can be incorporated into our lives and our education, policy, and organizing work.

Thank you to the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, our partners at Berkeley Media Studies Group, to Kiran, Arriane, Colin, Immanuel Leka, and Coalition Members who made this report possible.
